Rabat (Morocco), 8-9 July 2013

On 8 and 9 July 2013 a seminar was organised by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Kingdom of Morocco in Rabat, under the title "Concrete Actions to create synergies in the field of mediation". It was the second high-level seminar held as part of the Spanish-Moroccan joint initiative to promote mediation in the Mediterranean.

The seminar brought together senior officials from countries in the Mediterranean region and representatives of relevant international, regional and local organizations

The seminar brought together senior officials from countries in the Mediterranean region and representatives of relevant international, regional and local organizations such as the United Nations, the European Union, the Arab Maghreb Union, the Arab League, the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe, the Union for the Mediterranean and representatives of think tanks, NGOs and other civil society actors. CITpax and the Centre d'Études et de Recherches en Sciences Sociales (CERSS) of Rabat participated as focal points for civil society. Both institutions signed a memorandum of understanding to explore ways to collaborate in the future.
